Subsea

Peterhead is a regular port of calls for subsea and diving support vessels. The port has many advantages for this sector, including deepwater access and berths. Vessels do not have to wait for high tide to enter or leave the port. The port entrance is relatively straightforward, allowing vessels to be tied up at their berth within about an hour of arriving at the pilot station.

Wide quays offer plenty of space for marshalling vessel equipment and cargo in preparation for a port call. There is usually an opportunity to leave large or heavy items on the quayside, thus saving craneage and transport costs associated with double handling.

Albert Quay is frequently used for fabrication of spool pieces and other offshore equipment. The Smith Embankment will provide much more working space and allow larger engineering projects to be completed on the quayside.
