'Ugie Runner' delivered to Peterhead

Peterhead Port Authority has taken delivery of a new harbour tug/workboat. The vessel was built at MacDuff Shipbuilders and delivered in June 2008. She is a 13 metre long, steel hull twin screw vessel designed for towing and general harbour duties. The vessel has an 8.5 tonne bollard pull and incorporates a new dynamic oval towing system, developed by Mampaey Offshore in the Netherlands. The vessel is also supplied with a plough dredge and equipped with an A-frame for lifting.

She will be used for general worboat tasks around the harbour, towing and to assist berthing operations.

Her name was chosen as the winning entry in a competition by local Sea Cadet member Elizabeth Warrander.
