The UK Chamber of Shipping has been discussing the forthcoming Queen’s Platinum Jubilee with the Royal Navy. Together they have agreed to encourage UK ships and all vessels in British waters to mark the weekend by sounding a horn or whistle in salute to Her Majesty at 1200 BST on Saturday 4th June.

The Chamber of Shipping would like to encourage all ports to both participate with their own vessels and to promote this request to all ships within the port or using their facilities at this time.

Peterhead Port Authority in support of the Chamber of Shipping and in recognition of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee would encourage all vessel owners and masters within the port of Peterhead to take part in this significant celebration at this time by sounding their horns, or whistles.

Peterhead Port Authority would also like to inform our tenants, stakeholders and all members of the community of this event in advance..

Please forward on this note to anyone you feel should know about this event.
