Training will be held on the new Peterhead E-Auction early next month, followed by two weeks of test auctions before the system goes live on 31st March.
PPA Fishing Business Unit Manager Marshall Birnie today announced the training, a mixture of in-person and online, for all stakeholders during the weeks commencing 2nd and 9th March. User licences are required for participation.
Test auctions will be held on the system during the weeks commencing 16th and 23rd March in the afternoons, based on that morning’s sales data, allowing users to familiarise themselves with the live system, grading standards and size grading criteria.
A new grading scheme has been devised specially for the operation of the E-Auction, and Mr Birnie emphasised that Peterhead Fish Market was “committed to maintaining transparent, consistent and recognised quality standards to protect buyers, sellers, end consumers and the reputation of Scottish seafood”.
